Easton Police Urge Drivers and Pedestrians to Use Caution Near New Main Street Restaurant
EASTON — Chief Gary Sullivan would like to advise residents that a new Main Street restaurant opened this week and he is asking drivers to use caution as there will be more pedestrians in the downtown area.
Towneship, 140 Main St., opened on Thursday night and Chief Sullivan expects there will be an influx of traffic and pedestrians coming to and from the restaurant.
“The restaurant offers valet parking, which is certainly something that is new to our downtown,” Chief Sullivan said. “We are reminding drivers adhere to the 20 mph speed limit in the downtown area and thank residents for their patience and understanding in advance.”
Two Easton Police officers will be working a detail at the corner of Mechanic and Main streets on Friday and Saturday nights to help direct traffic.
Towneship is open from 4:30-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 4:30 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
