Easton Police Department Investigating Shooting
EASTON — Chief Gary Sullivan reports that the Easton Police Department is investigating after a man was shot in his home in North Easton early Monday morning.
The Easton Police and Fire Departments responded to 77 Massapoag Ave. at 2:49 a.m. Monday for a report of a person shot inside a residence. Upon arrival, rescuers were directed to a rear pool house, where they located a man who had been shot twice by an assailant who allegedly fired into the pool house from outside.
The victim, a 50-year-old man, was struck in the shoulder and side of his torso and was transported to an area hospital with injuries that are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was targeted and that this was not a random act of violence.
“We do not believe that there is an active threat or danger to the community, but we are always asking residents to be vigilant. If you see something, say something by calling the Easton Police Department,” Chief Sullivan said.
This incident is being actively investigated by the Easton Police Department. Anyone who has any information on this incident, or who may have see anything suspicious in the area early Monday is urged to contact Easton Police by calling 508-230-3322.
