Press Release
In order for our Department to maintain accredited status, I am pleased to announce that a team of assessors from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission is scheduled to arrive on October 18, 2022 to begin examining various aspects of the Easton Police Department’s policies and procedures, operations and facilities.
To accomplish our goal, we must be able to demonstrate that we are in compliance with all of the Commission’s 257 mandatory standards as well as 55% of the optional standards for our size agency. While here, and as part of the verification process, Assessors will be examining some of our policies, procedures, facilities and equipment. They will also be interacting with members of the Department to observe how we operate.
The on-site assessment will conclude on October 20, 2022 with a briefing by the assessors. The team will then report its findings to the Commission, which in turn will decide if accredited status should be awarded. If awarded, accreditation will be granted for a period of three years.
Achieving accreditation is a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence. Anyone interested in learning more about this program may contact the Department’s Accreditation Manager Sergeant Philip Adams at (508) 230-3322.
Sincerely,
Keith Boone
Chief of Police
