EASTON — Fire Chief Justin Alexander and Police Chief Keith Boone report that the Easton Fire and Police Departments together with the Department of Public Works are continuing to respond to damage caused by yesterday’s inclement weather.
The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-1 tornado, stretching 400 yards in length and 100 yards wide, touched down during Saturday’s storm. Winds reached a maximum speed of 105 miles per hour, knocking down power lines and several trees.
Two homes sustained severe structural damage.
According to National Grid, approximately 78 Easton residents remain without power at this time.
At this time, the Easton Fire and Police Departments are working alongside the Department of Public Works to respond to and address damage that has been sustained from yesterday’s storm.
Easton first responders are working with National Grid to ensure safety as crews restore power to those affected.
